Our 2018 Anzac Day Commemoration Choir, conducted by Paul Holley OAM, is heading to France in the coming weeks for a once-in-a-lifetime tour which will include performing at the Anzac Day Dawn Service and Centenary of the Battle of Villers-Bretonneux.
We’ll be sharing moments from our choir’s journey through our daily blog. So, first things first, to make sure you receive each new blog post, we invite you to sign up. Do this by hovering you cursor over the bottom right corner of this page, and you should be prompted to enter your email address (any problems please email firstname.lastname@example.org).
This choir’s performance journey has already begun, with its Dedication Service & Concert in early March in Brisbane. If you missed it, here’s a snippet shown on Channel 7.
The choir has an exciting performance schedule once in France, including their first performance on 16 April, where they will be hosted by Paris choir, Ensemble Mångata. If you’re coming along to this concert, make sure you let us know via the Facebook event.
The following evening, our choir will perform at the Ravivage de la Flame at the L’Arc de Triomphe, Paris.
Leaving Paris, they will then travel to Allonville, Bailleul, Vignacourt and Villers-Bretonneux, looking forward to meeting and performing for the local communities in each town.
Along with beautiful concert moments, we’ll be sharing perspectives on the experience from choristers who had relatives who served in the First World War, all the while honouring this significant time in Australia and the world’s history.
