14. The happiest place on earth!

Thursday 18 April

EURODISNEY!!!

Many of our touring party have been very keenly anticipating this day for quite some time now! Disney has a special place in many peoples’ hearts, young and old, and it was brilliant to see so many joyous, euphoric faces throughout the day!!

After breakfast, we boarded our buses to brave the slight Parisian congestion to get to EuroDisney. Inside the park, in small groups of three upwards, we split and began exploring the two parks: Disneyland Park (with rides) and Disney Studios, with more of a focus on animation and creation!

Some highlights included the Hyperspace Mountain Star Wars ride which featured a thrilling 360 degree loop; the Hollywood Tower which even Paul and Rochelle braved, where death-defying drops caused many to shriek; the 5:30pm Parade, where the park was showered in afternoon sun as a plethora of characters and floats boldly danced and meandered along the drive and the pink and blue Cinderella Castle with its towers as a perfect selfie position.

Many spent money on some amazing Micky ears, ranging from Lion King themed ones, to gold sequinned ears! Mugs, pens, charms, key rings, masks, plates, bags – the list could go on! Disney paraphernalia was all about, and our choristers loved it. We were given a wide range of food selections too!

Classic American hot dogs and drinks were a popular spot, whilst FrontierLand hosted a tasty TexMex range of burritos and quesadillas. Marvel-themed burgers were also enjoyed by some singers in the studio section of the park.

Other rides were enjoyed, some at a slower pace. Ratatouille fans enjoyed a 3D experience comfortably seated on a mini cooking adventure, and those keen for some mystical journeys enjoyed the Alice in Wonderland maze!

Gathering at our ‘meeting spot’ at 7:45pm (after some last minute shopping), we began our journey back to our accommodation to settle in for the night and relax before tomorrow’s free morning and the evening Lighting of the Flame ceremony under the Arc de Triomphe.
